The 'futuristic' Laureate from Girard-Perregaux

It follows up on the first Laureato Absolute models of 2019 with this new 44-millimetre Girard-Perregaux chronograph, which sports a case and bezel made of glassy carbon, a durable and extremely lightweight material. Vitreous carbon, which allows the Crystal Rock to weigh just 94 grams, combines layers of carbon fibre and glass fibre aligned randomly so that each case is unique. A sandwich construction method is used for the dial: it consists of a shaded grey upper layer, punctuated by numerous openings that allow a partial view of the black gold lower layer on which it rests. Below the upper layer are the chronograph counters with a colimaçon finish; the chapter ring, on the other hand, is located on the outermost edge of the dial. The strap, in grey rubber with a woven motif and stitching in the same colour, is closed by a black titanium folding clasp equipped with a micro-adjustment device for an optimal fit on the wrist. The Laureato Absolute Crystal Rock, in a limited edition of 100, is equipped with an in-house self-winding movement, the calibre GP03300- 1058, comprising 419 components and with a minimum power reserve of 46 hours.
