Longines alpine skiing timekeeper

Longines cronometrista dello sci alpino

The story of Longines is closely linked to sports timekeeping: from gymnastics to horse riding (Piazza di Siena immediately springs to mind...), tennis and skiing. And in December we are talking about snow and skiing, to announce that Longines is once again the Official Timekeeper of the 2008/2009 FIS (International Ski Federation) Alpine Ski World Cup. The races started on 25 October in Sölden, Austria. The championship is also the occasion for the return of Aksel Lund Svindal, among others Longines Ambassador of Elegance, to the piste after his serious injury last year. The champion will wear a Grande Vitesse model on his wrist during the races. As a reminder, this collection is based on the concept of speed through a series of models honouring the "fastest" men in history and intended for today's daring sportsmen, and includes chronographs with automatic mechanical movements, visible through the sapphire crystal case back.
