Czapek's Faubourg de Cracovie changes clothes

Czapek & Cie unveils a new version of the Faubourg de Cracovie chronograph, for the first time in 18-carat gold. Hitherto only available in steel and titanium, the watch is fitted with the Czapek SXH3 calibre, a Cosc-certified self-winding mechanical movement beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour, offering 65 hours of power reserve with a single barrel. Beyond the mechanical prowess, the habillage is no less impressive, with delicately sandblasted anthracite bridges visible through the transparent case back. It features a dial with Czapek's typical hand-crafted "Résonance" guilloché motif: a design in which circular lines intersect to form squares in bas-relief and which was created with Metalem, one of the Geneva-based company's Swiss partners specialising in the manufacture of dials. The deep blue colour is the result of a special coating developed by Positive Coating, based in La-Chaux-de-Fonds. Christened "Océan d'Or", this new model is presented in a limited edition of eight pieces for the 5N pink gold version and only two pieces for the 2N yellow gold version (already sold out). Available at the brand's official dealers, in the boutique at 18 rue de la Corraterie, Geneva, and on czapek.com. Price: 44,000 euros.
