With its new Tambour Street Diver, Louis Vuitton enters the high-end sports watch segment in its own right. While retaining the colourful, creative and unconventional styling elements that have always been central to the Maison, the models in this line boast all the requisites of a traditional diver: from the two screw-down crowns, to the 100m water-resistance, to the SuperLuminova coatings and the inner rotating bezel with contrasting colour that draws the eye to the centre of the dial, creating a sensation of depth and intensity. The crown at 1:30, for rotating the bezel, is decorated with the silhouette of a diver to distinguish it from the winding crown at 3 o'clock, which is used to wind the movement and set the time. Then using the innovative "Align the V" concept, the letter V on the diving scale rotates to align with the V on the tip of the minute hand and the two together form an X marking the start of the dive. The time spent underwater is then read off the inner bezel, with the first 15 minutes highlighted by a vivid colour-block scale.
The Tambour Street Diver is available in three 44 mm automatic models and a 39.5 mm quartz version. The quick-change strap system developed by Louis Vuitton over the past three years further enhances the watch's ability to transform from day to evening, from casual to formal, from sporty to elegant.
