Tissot - Supersport Chrono Giro d'Italia 2021

Cycling is undoubtedly one of the sports in which Tissot has the greatest presence. In fact, the Swiss company has been participating in various cycling events for 50 years. Proud of its Swiss roots, the brand strengthened its commitment by becoming a member of the International Cycling Union (UCI) in 1995. Since then, Tissot has been the official timekeeper for road, track, mountain bike and BMX world championships as well as the UCI Track Cycling World Cup. After re-establishing relations with the Tour de France and the Vuelta in 2016, Tissot signed the Grand Slam with the Giro d'Italia, thus becoming the first official Swiss timekeeper in the history of the 3 biggest tours in the cycling universe. Today, Tissot is also involved in ASO's major cycling races, and is also in charge of the Tour de Suisse. In addition to its role as official timekeeper, Tissot designs a series of official watches each year in honour of its various partnerships. These include the new Supersport Chrono Giro d'Italia 2021 (the race that will start on 8 May from Turin), with a 45.5 mm steel case that has undergone a black PVD treatment and is water-resistant to 10 atmospheres. The dial, which is also black, houses three additional counters (for tenths of a second chrono at 2 o'clock, continuous seconds at 6 o'clock, and chrono minutes at 10 o'clock), as well as a date window at 6 o'clock. Of note is the central chrono seconds hand, in pink, with a racing bike acting as a counterweight. Protecting it is a sapphire crystal, surrounded by an aluminium bezel with a tachymeter scale. The movement used, quartz, is the ETA G10.212 calibre. On the case back is the Giro d'Italia logo. The watch comes with two interchangeable straps, one in rubber and the other in leather.
