The accessible luxury of Louis Erard

Louis Erard's commitment to offering high-end workmanship at an affordable price continues. After the Excellence Émail Grand Feu, the result of a collaboration with the Donzé Cadrans atelier in Le Locle, it is now the turn of the Excellence Guilloché Main. The watch features a chequered guilloché dial produced by Fehr et Cie SA of La Chaux-de-Fonds, a company specialising in the design and manufacture of dials for the industry's most prestigious brands. Executed entirely by hand, this chequered pattern deceives the eye by creating depth in a perfectly flat image. The effect is reinforced by the black varnish, used to coat the dial before the guilloché decoration, and the final rhodium-plating. The steel case houses the Sellita SW261-1 automatic calibre, visible through the opening in the case back. In a limited edition of 99 pieces, it is on sale for 3,900 Swiss francs.
