IWC Big Pilot in sand-coloured ceramic

For the first time, IWC is using sand-coloured ceramic for the cases of two new Big Pilot's Watches. The resulting striking shade of colour, reminiscent of desert sand, comes from the combination of zirconium oxide with other metal oxides. Both models have dark brown dials with sand-coloured luminescent material and rubber straps in the same shade with fabric inserts. The first, the Big Pilot's Watch Perpetual Calendar Top Gun Edition 'Mojave Desert', is characterised by several features: it is equipped with the ingenious system that automatically recognises different month lengths and leap years; the moon phase display for the northern and southern hemispheres only needs to be adjusted by one day after 577.5 years; and, thanks to the perfect synchronisation of all indications, the calendar can be easily adjusted using a single crown. The calendar module, consisting of 82 individual components and equipped with a four-digit year display, is powered by the IWC-manufactured 52615 calibre, visible through the sapphire-glass back. The Pellaton automatic winding system with virtually wear-resistant ceramic components builds up a seven-day power reserve in two barrels. Production of the watch will be limited to only 150 pieces per year (price: 34,000 euros). The second model, the Big Pilot's Watch Top Gun Edition "Mojave Desert", with a case diameter of 46 millimetres, is equipped with the IWC-manufactured IWC 52110 calibre with Pellaton winding system, two barrels and a seven-day power reserve. The soft-iron inner cage effectively protects the movement from magnetic fields. The Top Gun logo is engraved on the titanium back. This model will be limited to only 250 pieces per year (price €15,100).
