Audemars Piguet - Royal Oak Automatic Chronograph 41 mm

The Royal Oak Automatic Chronograph 41 mm is finally equipped with an integrated chronograph calibre: the in-house 4401 movement, launched in 2019 on the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet. A self-winding flyback chronograph (32 mm diameter, 6.8 mm thick, 367 components, 40 jewels, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 70-hour power reserve, 22-carat gold skeletonised rotor), with column wheel and vertical friction clutch engagement. The sapphire window on the back allows one to observe the rational construction of the movement, which leaves nothing to haute horlogerie aesthetics, while presenting excellent finishing. The components are devoted to functionality and the appearance is decidedly that of a modern chronograph. As we were saying, for the time being, this calibre is mounted on a 41 mm 18-carat rose gold case, with a slightly increased thickness compared to its predecessor (we are at 12.4 mm), in order to accommodate the new calibre in place of the automatic with Dubois Dépraz module. Two dials are available, in shades of blue and brown with a guilloché-engraved "Grande Tapisserie" motif, pink gold counters (also guilloché-engraved), pink gold applied hour markers and luminescent baton hands. With the adoption of the new engine, the layout of the indications changes: the chrono minute counter (at 9 o'clock) and chrono hour counter (at 9 o'clock) are inverted compared to the previous model, and the date disc is now located closer to the flange. Water-resistant to a pressure of 5 atmospheres, the new Royal Oak Chronograph 41 mm with a rose gold case is available with an 18-carat rose gold bracelet or a hand-sewn alligator strap with large square scales, matching the shade of the dial, blue or brown. The strap is fitted with a pink gold folding clasp.

Prices: 67,800 euros (with rose gold bracelet); 46,900 euros (with alligator strap).
