Founded in Switzerland in 2010, Cyrus Genève, an independent watchmaker based in Le Locle and directed by master watchmaker Jean-François Mojon, announced the start of a new partnership with the Uralkali Haas F1 Team, in the role of Official Timekeeper and Watch Partner. The announcement came during the fifth round of the Formula One World Championship season, the Monaco round, which took place last weekend. The Urakali Haas F1 Team made its Formula 1 debut in 2016, becoming the first American team to race in Formula 1 since 1986. Founded by industrialist Gene Haas, the Uralkali Haas F1 Team is based in the United States, in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The team's drivers are young and promising, being German Mick Schumacher (son of seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael) and Russian Nikita Mazepin. "It is a great honour to serve as Official Timekeeper of the Uralkali Haas F1 Team for years to come," said Pablo Richard, co-owner of Cyrus Genève. "There is a strong connection between racing cars and watchmaking, as both fields share the importance of engineering. Racing cars, like watches, are driven by a mechanical heart. Both sectors constantly experience innovative technological developments in order to achieve the best in terms of achievable results. We all work every day to achieve excellence in our respective fields, in order to meet the wishes of enthusiasts. We are ready to begin this exciting partnership alongside the Uralkali Haas F1 Team'.
