IWC - Big Pilot's Watch Racing Green

First unveiled by IWC in 2002, this new Big Pilot's Watch from IWC (Ref. IW501015), which harks back to the historic tradition of aviator watches, employs an oversized 46.2 mm steel case. Also oversized is the knurled, screw-locked and personalised winding crown, which draws its inspiration from a military watch dating back to the 1940s, as does the clearly legible dial. The latter (protected by a domed, anti-pressure sapphire crystal and subjected to a double anti-reflective treatment) catches the eye because of its lustre and the particular shade used, the aforementioned 'racing green'. The diamond-shaped hands and Arabic numeral indices are treated with a luminescent substance, the power reserve display (7 days, thanks to the use of two barrels) is at 3 o'clock, and the date window is at 6 o'clock. The movement used is the IWC 52110 calibre (257 components, 28,800 vib/h, 31 jewels, Pellaton rotor), which is self-winding and antimagnetic, thanks to the use of a soft-iron inner case. Water-resistant to a pressure of 6 atmospheres, the new IWC Big Pilot's Watch with its "racing green" dial is combined with a brown calfskin strap with a personalised steel folding clasp.

Price: 13,200 euro.
