Garmin's new Descent Mk2S has a 43 mm case made of fibre-reinforced polymers, combined with a steel bezel and a silicon strap. The 1.2-inch TFT display is protected by a sapphire crystal, while the watertight buttons are 316 stainless steel, satin-finished to 240 grit. Water-resistant to a pressure of 10 atmospheres, the watch is available in three colour tones, namely: Light Gold with a Light Sand silicone strap (a variant embellished through a galvanic bath of the bezel, buckle and push-buttons); DLC Carbon Gray, with a black silicone strap and with a Diamond Like Carbon coating in a charcoal grey colour; Mineral Blue, with a Sea Foam silicone strap, which represents the real chromatic novelty of the collection, offering for the first time a colouring with the nuances typical of the sea. All three variants can be customised with interchangeable straps via the innovative and patented QuickFit quick release. Regarding diving activities, the Descent Mk2S provides a complete set of information for safe diving activities including water temperature, underwater cardio, decompression stop times, no flight zone and more. In addition, this smartwatch supports six different dive modes: once underwater, it will automatically start monitoring data and stop it once surfaced. It provides Single-Gas mode for recreational diving activities, and Multi-Gas mode for technical diving activities, including planned decompressions. The advanced, high-sensitivity Multi-GNSS (GPS, GLONASS and Galileo) positioning system and integrated map in the Descent Mk2S automatically memorises entry and exit points from the water thanks to instant satellite signal recovery. In addition, the 3-axis compass, which can be conveniently viewed by scrolling through the data screens with the handy buttons, allows optimal orientation in all conditions, even underwater. The memory of the Descent Mk2S (32 GB) stores and displays data from at least 200 dives. You can view them directly on the watch or on your smartphone via the Garmin Dive app. However, the Descent Mk2S is not only a watch specifically for diving, but also an elegant smartwatch ideal for sport and a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
