Chopard presents the new Happy Ocean

Today, 8 June, is World Oceans Day, the day the United Nations established to celebrate the vital role of the oceans in the lives of us all, while calling on us to protect them by encouraging the sustainable use of marine resources. This day provides us with an opportunity to raise global awareness of the benefits to humanity derived from the oceans and upon which future generations depend. Chopard is a Maison that has made ethicality and environmental and social responsibility one of its main pillars since 2013, the year in which it began the journey known as "The Journey to Sustainable Luxury", which enabled the brand to reach 100% of certified ethical gold for all its jewellery and watch production in July 2018. To mark World Oceans Day, the House presents the new Happy Ocean, a watch dedicated to the underwater world and combining all the characteristics of a diver with ethical pink gold. Inevitable, of course, are the mobile diamonds moving freely between the two sapphire crystals, the hallmark of the Happy Sport collection of which the Happy Ocean is a variation. This new timepiece adopts a light blue-grey dial with a wave motif, on which luminescent hands are combined with geometric luminescent hour markers that are also luminescent; between 4 and 5 o'clock is the date window. The dial itself is protected by the aforementioned anti-reflective sapphire crystals and is surrounded by an 18-carat pink gold unidirectional rotating bezel with an aluminium disc. The 40 mm steel and 18-carat rose gold case is water-resistant to 300 metres and houses an automatic mechanical movement, Chopard calibre 01.01-C (diameter 28.80 mm, thickness 4.95 mm, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 31 jewels), equipped with a 60-hour power reserve. The strap is made of blue-grey calfskin with a steel pin buckle. The watch comes with a second blue-grey NATO strap.

Price: 12,300 euro.
