Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle ultra-thin split-seconds chronograph Excellence Platine Collection

Vacheron Constantin's exclusive Excellence Platine collection houses only limited-edition models made exclusively in platinum: the case, bezel, dial, crown and folding clasp are all forged in this noble metal; in addition, the alligator strap is stitched with interlaced platinum and silk thread. This elegant and exclusive single-pusher split-seconds chronograph, produced in only 15 numbered pieces and available exclusively from Vacheron Constantin boutiques, employs a 42.5 mm diameter by 10.72 mm thick case and is fitted with a sapphire crystal both protecting the dial and the back. The dial itself, sandblasted, houses Dauphine hands and applied white gold bar-markers, as well as two blued chronograph hands in the centre (for chrono seconds and split-seconds), chrono minutes at 3 o'clock, continuous seconds at 9 o'clock, power reserve at 6 o'clock and peripheral tachymeter scale. Note the inscription 'Pt950' at 3 o'clock, underlining the use of platinum. The movement used, refined to the highest level, is the 3500 calibre (37.66 mm diameter, 5.2 mm thick, 473 components, 47 jewels, 21,600 vib/h, power reserve of approximately 48 hours, peripheral rotor in 22-carat gold, awarded the Geneva Hallmark), mechanical with automatic winding. Note the particular conformation of the column wheel, which takes the shape of a Maltese cross, the emblem of the Swiss Maison.
