The Lynx of Gruppo Ardito Watches

The four partners at the head of the Gruppo Ardito Watches brand come from working backgrounds ranging from precision mechanical engineering to design and micromechanics applied to watchmaking. Their great passion for watches, combined with the professional skills they have acquired over the years, has driven them to set up a small company that makes watches of the highest quality and technical standards. The name Gruppo Ardito Watches is intended to indicate both the 'company vocation' of proud Italian-ness and the 'company promise' of robust and reliable watches. It is inspired by the memory of the Arditi and, more generally, by the Italian Assault and Incursion units of the Army, Navy and Air Force who, with their strength, sense of duty and spirit of sacrifice pushed to the extreme, contributed to writing important pages during the two world wars. The very robust Gruppo Ardito Watches sport a decidedly original aesthetic: these are professional diving/military watches, designed and manufactured in Italy, conceived and built to withstand the most extreme uses over time. The company recently presented the Lince model, with a case 42 mm in diameter by 12 mm thick. The grade 5 titanium case is composed of 3 parts made from bar titanium and is secured with 10 Allen screws (5 on the case back and 5 on the bezel). The blue dial, protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, features a degradé effect with hand-finishing and sword-shaped hands and indexes sampled with Superluminova. The screw-down crown is in grade 5 titanium and personalised. Water resistance is over 100 atmospheres (1,000 metres). The Lynx, which weighs only 85 grams, is equipped with the Swiss Made Sellita SW200 automatic calibre (28,800 vibrations per hour, hour, minute, second and date functions, 41-hour power reserve). The case back is made of grade 5 titanium with a micro-bead-blasted finish. The Lince is offered in a handcrafted wooden box, inside which there is also a bezel disassembly key, a tool for removing the strap and buckle, a spare O-ring and the screws for closing the case. Lince is combined with a customised natural rubber strap produced by an Italian company, with a steel buckle that is also customised. All G.A.W. models can be customised with various accessories (bezels of various types and straps produced on request).
