Owning a SwatchPAY! is like having a payment card on your wrist, as all you have to do is bring the watch close to the POS to complete the transaction in contactless mode. The collection is being expanded with new models in shades perfect for summer outfits and now also includes models from the GENT family, with 34 mm cases, which join the NEW GENT (41 mm case) and BIG BOLD (47 mm case). The novelties, however, do not end there, as the opportunities for use are also growing: it is now possible to combine SwatchPAY! with Mastercard and VISA circuit payment cards issued by Intesa Sanpaolo, Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking and Fideuram. The SwatchPAY! contactless payment uses an NFC (Near Field Communication) radio chip integrated into the watch face. To complete the transaction, all the customer has to do is bring the watch close to the POS and enter the card PIN, when prompted. At that point, the reader acquires the payment information from the watch chip and that's it. The energy required for the operation is provided by the terminal, so unlike with smartphones, the timepiece can be used for payment without worrying about the battery. Moreover, like the other Swatch models, it is water-resistant to a depth of 30 metres. Associating a payment card with the Swatch watch can be done at any Swatch Store, online with the purchase of a SwatchPAY! on swatch.com, or autonomously using an Android smartphone with NFC.
