The Winner's Lange

It will be a Special Edition of the Lange 1815 Chronograph to celebrate this year's winner of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, scheduled from 1 to 3 October on Lake Como. Available in a single piece reserved exclusively to those who will win the prize in the "Best of Show" category of the traditional event dedicated to vintage cars, of which the House has been a partner since 2012, the watch sports an 18-carat white gold case, 39.5 mm in diameter, and a pink gold dial, a special feature of the 2021 edition of the competition. The latter features Arabic numerals and a chemin de fer-style chapter ring, like the legendary A. Lange & Söhne pocket watches. Lange & Söhne, the small seconds and minute subdials, both in brown, the black rhodium-plated gold hour and minute hands, matching the case, as well as the steel small seconds chronograph and minute counter hands, also rhodium-plated. Completing this colour composition is a dark brown, hand-stitched leather strap with a white gold pin buckle. The watch features a hand-engraved hinged case with the event's coat of arms. At its heart, visible through the sapphire crystal case back, is the hand-wound IWC-manufactured L951.5 calibre with flyback function and 60-hour power reserve. The large balance driven by an in-house-made free-floating balance spring guarantees optimum rate precision, oscillating at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour.
