Grand Seiko exclusively for Europe

These two new Grand Seiko Elegances are inspired by the discreet nuances of light and shadow typical of Japanese architecture. Specifically, they are the models with Reff. SBGW267G and SBGW269G, which aim to represent the brand's characteristic concept of "Nature of Time". The Grand Seiko Elegance with Ref. SBGW267G evokes the image of "Asakage", the dazzling morning light that is absorbed by the shōji and softly illuminates the room, while the one with Ref. SBGW269G, designed in the image of "Yukage", evokes the dim light of twilight that the shōji absorbs, infusing the room with warmth. The shōji is a movable paper panel that is placed inside a room, in a spot where it can diffuse light to great artistic effect, and is made by covering a wooden lattice with a type of traditional Japanese paper called washi, used for windows, doors and exterior walls. Both Grand Seiko models visible here feature a curved dial embellished with a special washi pattern, available in black or silver-plated. The timepieces are also fitted with calfskin straps, the shades of which are obtained by applying a second layer of colour, which is then progressively removed, creating a very special texture. The steel case has a diameter of 38.5 mm and is water-resistant to 3 atmospheres. The movement used (visible from the case back side) is the 9564 calibre, mechanical with manual winding, which guarantees a 72-hour power reserve and an average accuracy of -3/+3 seconds per day.
