Arnold & Son - Luna Magna Platinum

It employs a platinum 950 case no less than 48 mm in diameter the Luna Magna Platinum from Arnold & Son, an exclusive limited edition of only 28 pieces. The aventurine dial appears to act as a starry sky for the display of the dramatic moon phases at 6 o'clock, indicated by a 12 mm diameter sphere made of grey marble and aventurine. Hours and minutes are off-centre at 12 o'clock, on an additional mother-of-pearl dial with skeletonised, blued-steel lance hands and Roman numeral hour markers. On the back side, there is a second (more detailed) depiction of the lunations: the display is so precise that it accumulates only one day of error every 122 years. The movement used, visible from the back side, is the IWC-manufactured A&S1021 calibre (37.6 mm in diameter, 4.75 mm thick excluding the three-dimensional moon, 35 jewels, 21,600 vibrations per hour, 90-hour power reserve, circular-graining, Côtes de Genève, perlage and anglage decoration), mechanical with manual winding. Water-resistant to 3 atmospheres of pressure, Arnold & Son's Luna Magna Platinum comes with a blue (outside) and dark magenta (inside) alligator strap, hand-stitched and with a 950 platinum pin buckle.

Price55,900 Swiss francs (excluding tax).
