In the fierce field of diver's watches, there are many alternatives available on the market. Among these are some that may be less well known, but which are characterised by an originality of design that is truly outstanding and a quality that has nothing to envy from many of the more emblazoned brands. Among these models is certainly the new Buceador Caribe by Cuervo y Sobrinos, offered in three colour versions, named Varadero, Cayo Coco and Coral Negro, which recall, respectively, the cyan-coloured seas of Varadero, the pastel sands of Cayo Coco and the black corals native to the region. The Buceador Caribe adopts a very special 43 mm steel case (also available with black PVD treatment in the Coral Negro variant), with an octagonal case middle and round bezel, water-resistant to 20 atmospheres. The system for rotating and locking the flange is original: in fact, the latter is unlocked by pressing the push-button with non-slip surface located at 4, which allows it to be rotated thanks to the fluted crown positioned at 2. The classic winding and regulating crown is located at 9 and is screwed down. The movement that animates Cuervo y Sobrinos' Buceador Caribe is the CyS 5104 calibre (based on Peseux 224, 38-hour power reserve) mechanical automatic, with a personalised and decorated oscillating weight. Each watch comes with two interchangeable straps, one in rubber and the other in calfskin, and is housed in a new special edition humidor. Cuervo y Sobrinos' Buceador Caribe are 'discreet' diver's watches that do not conceal their diving purpose, but are nevertheless suitable for wearing in all circumstances, even the most formal ones. Very inviting and well-proportioned to the quality of the timepieces appears the selling price.
