Held on 14 March in London, the event Omega which marked the -500 days to the next Olympic Games starting on 27 July 2012. To mark the occasion, the Maison presented Omega's new Countdown in Trafalgar Square, with the participation of Stephen Urquhart (Omega President), Lord Seb Coe (LOGOC President), Boris Johnson (Mayor of London) and Omega's new testimonial, Jessica Ennis (heptathlon champion). In addition, to celebrate its one hundred and twenty-five years of Olympic sports timekeeping, the company created the first of its new Olympic models, the Seamaster Aqua Terra 44 London Chronograph. Two versions are available: the first with a two-tone case in 18 Ct rose gold and steel, 44 millimetres in diameter, with an integrated black leather strap; the second, also 44 millimetres in diameter, with a case in resistant steel combined with a bracelet in the same material. The dial, with its light blue PVD coating, is adorned with Omega's characteristic "Teak Concept" vertical line motif, a hallmark of the Aqua Terra line. It features a small seconds counter at 9 o'clock and a date display between 4 and 5 o'clock, while the 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph counters are located at 3 and 6 o'clock respectively. The Seamaster Aqua Terra 44 London features polished and satin-brushed 18 Ct yellow gold central hour, minute and chronograph seconds hands, facetted and coated with white SuperLuminova to allow them to be read in all light conditions. The caseback, stamped with the "London 2012" Olympic emblem, pays tribute to the London 2012 Games. The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 44 London Chronograph is guaranteed water-resistant to 150 metres.
