IWC Top Gun: Pantone colours

Following in the footsteps of the 2019 Top Gun Edition 'Mojave Desert' in sand-coloured ceramic, IWC is back on colour, working in collaboration with one of the leading authorities on the subject, the Pantone Color Institute, to create an entirely new range of ceramic shades, perfectly matched to all the other watch components. Numerous attempts and versions were needed to perfect the monochrome designs. The Pilot's Watch Chronograph Top Gun Edition "Lake Tahoe" has a 44.5-millimetre case in white ceramic (like US Navy uniforms) combined with a deep black dial with black hands coated with luminescent material. The pushers and crown are made of steel while the case back is made of titanium. The matching strap is made of white embossed rubber. The flight suits of naval aviators inspired the special colour of the 'Woodland' Edition. The new 'Woodland Green' colour is used for the ceramic case and dial, while numerals and hour markers are printed in a lighter shade. Pushers and case back are in matt black Ceratanium. The strap is green rubber. For both, the movement is the 69380 calibre.

Traditionally large, the Big Pilot in 2021 inaugurated the new 43 mm size for the benefit of improved versatility and wearability in everyday life. This size also makes its debut in the Big Pilot's Watch 43 Top Gun series in black ceramic, with a titanium case back. The high-tech ceramic used for the case offers maximum protection against scratches. The company, together with Pantone, has defined the black colour of the ceramic as "IWC Jet Black". Automatic movement, 82100 calibre with Pellaton winding system.

The Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 Top Gun Ceratanium, on the other hand, is the first 41 mm chronograph in this collection made entirely of Ceratanium (case, pushers and crown), an innovative material launched in 2019 in the Pilot's Watches collection. It is distinguished not only by its exceptional characteristics of lightness and scratch resistance, but also by its special matt black colour, which IWC and Pantone have dubbed "IWC Ceratanium". The movement is the 69385 calibre and is visible through the smoked sapphire glass back.
