Big Bang Integral 'Time Only': changing personality

Smaller and slimmer, Hublot's Big Bang Integral 'Time Only' propels itself into the elegant sports watch category. Remaining a Hublot through and through

Hublot Big Bang Integral Time Only

If the Big Bang Integral chrono of 2020 represented a major breakthrough in reconnecting Hublot's typical design to the archetype of the luxury sportsman with an integrated bracelet, the 'Time Only' is the next step: a new, smaller size (40 mm) and a slim, time-only automatic movement. What do you think of the Big Bang's new personality?

Although concentrated in volume, the 'Time Only' is still a Big Bang in its own right, but more wearable and versatile, thanks also to a thickness of 9.25 mm, decidedly reduced by the brand's classic standards. Unlike the general trend for bracelets on the market, the choice of metal has fallen on titanium, which is much lighter than steel and has non-allergenic properties. However, the brand, true to its concept of the art of casting, has also produced a more precious version in yellow gold and an all black version, in a limited edition of 250, in black ceramic.

The case, water-resistant to 100 metres, echoes the sandwich structure typical of the Big Bang with a black composite resin insert. Even the dial does not betray the Hublot style: skeletonised, it displays the movement, including the date wheel with its skeletonised numerals, the automatic HUB1710 calibre (based on the Zenith Elite 670).

A well-proportioned and slim Big Bang, easily worn under shirt cuffs, that fits in with current shopping trends while offering the brand's DNA and character. The titanium version is easier to wear than the yellow gold one and has a more legible dial than the black ceramic model. What can I say, changing the order of factors does not change the product, but the Time Only is a new alternative to the more classic Big Bang and a worthy competitor in a market segment that the brand had not yet explored until now.

Prices17,500 euros (in titanium); 48,700 euros in gold; 19,600 euros in ceramic.
