The collaboration between Girard-Perregaux and Aston Martin was signed in 2021 and has already led to the launch of models: two Laureato models in chrono version and a Tourbillon with Three Bridges. This year, it is the turn of two solotempo models, which represent a first for the House of La Chaux-de-Fonds: the first Laureato models with a case and bracelet made of green ceramic.

This colour shade, of course, was not chosen at random: it is in fact the famous 'British racing green' that has characterised sports cars from Great Britain for over a century. The new Laureato (which will be available from June) therefore uses this iconic shade for its ceramic case and bracelet, a material consisting of zirconium oxide and metal oxides, which give it its characteristic green hue.

The zirconium oxide selected by Girard-Perregaux consists of a very fine powder made up of microspheres with a diameter of a few fractions of a micron. Both the case and the bracelet feature polished and satin-finished surfaces, and the dial, also in green, is distinguished by a diamond-patterned grid pattern, which can be found both on the historic Aston Martin logo used from 1921 to 1926 and on the quilted seats of some of the company's cars.

In both cases, the calibres are visible from the back side, which is fitted with a sapphire glass porthole personalised with the Aston Martin logo.
