The Gemelli Hospital in Rome was confirmed this year as the best hospital in Italy and among the top 40 in the world. In fact, the recently published Newsweek World's Best Hospitals 2023 report saw the Gemelli ranked first among Italian hospitals and 38th in the world. Inaugurated in 1964 and named after the founder of the Catholic University, Father Agostino Gemelli, the Policlinico A. Gemelli is one of the few that has been granted public recognition as an IRCCS - Institute for hospitalisation and scientific care - by the Ministry of Health for personalised medicine and innovative biotechnologies.

The fact that it is a university polyclinic, with over 6,000 students enrolled in degree courses at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and more than 1,150 researchers, makes it possible to combine research, training and assistance, creating an added value that positions the Foundation as an international and national reference in the field of research.

The award ceremony will take place on 30 May in the Multimedia Hall of the Policlinico A. Gemelli. On this occasion, awards will be presented to young people who have distinguished themselves in their respective areas of research. The researchers, who represent excellence in their field, will receive a study cheque and a Hausmann & Co. watch with an engraving dedicated to the Prize.
