Charity initiatives dedicated to Abruzzo continue. Also Audemars Piguet has made its contribution, joining 'Abruzzo nel Cuore', a committee set up by Abruzzo Formula One driver Jarno Trulli, who immediately after the earthquake organised a fundraising campaign by opening the website www.abruzzonelcuore.it.

During the charity evening organised together with Adeumars Piguet, which took place on 12 September at the Meregalli Group's cellars, 300,000 euros were raised.

Audemars Piguet created a unique piece for the event, a Royal Oak tourbillon chronograph with a sandblasted titanium case and steel bezel, and back engraved with the Abruzzo logo in the heart. The watch was sold at a charity auction, held during the evening, for 180,000 euros.

Many colleagues and friends of Jarno Trulli attended the event. Drivers donated their overalls or helmets. Jarno Trulli's helmet fetched €40,000.

The proceeds will be added to the funds already collected by Abruzzo nel Cuore to finance a reconstruction project that will be decided by the end of the year.

Special guest auctioneer and patroness of the evening was Simona Ventura. Guests included former drivers Ivan Capelli and Jacques Lafitte and skier Manuela Moelgg, as well as entrepreneurs and Formula 1 enthusiasts.
