Ahead of the opening of the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games, scheduled for 24 February, the Omega has signed a partnership with the IOC (International Olympic Committee) that will see it involved until the 2020 edition of the Olympic Games. In addition to timing all the events related to this major event, the company will be responsible for processing the data, displaying the results at the competition venues and disseminating them to the media around the world. The official announcement was made on 25 September at a press conference held at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne by IOC President Jacques Rogge, Swatch Group President Nicolas Hayek, Swatch Group CEO Nick Hayek Jr. and Omega President Stephen Urquhart.
