Blue Day 2007

Giornata Azzurra 2007

Once again this year, Breitling played a leading role in the most important event at national level that the Italian Air Force organises annually at one of its bases. On 27 May, the 2007 Giornata Azzurra took place at the Air Force base at Pratica di Mare (Rome), and the famous Swiss watchmaker, which has always been linked to the world of flight, offered VIP access to its hospitality area to friends, aficionados and all the pilots of the aerobatic patrols, first and foremost the Frecce Tricolori team, to witness a unique spectacle.

The air show at Pratica di Mare was attended by aircraft and helicopters from the Air Force, other Armed Forces, aircraft still in the development phase, aircraft from foreign air forces and some of the world's most prestigious aerobatic teams, who, with the Frecce Tricolori, presented their extraordinary flight programmes.

The Breitling Jet Team, the world's only civil aerobatic patrol using jet aircraft, the legendary Albatros L-59, could not miss this extraordinary event.

The patrols, with their incredible evolutions, were the ideal setting for the breathtaking and overwhelming spectacle of our Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale, whose tricolour smoke coloured the skies of Rome in front of over 300,000 enthusiastic spectators.
