Patek Philippe Calibre 89 at auction at Antiquorum

Patek Philippe Calibro 89
Patek Philippe Calibre 89

The most complicated watch in the world, the Calibre 89 by Patek Philippewill be put up for auction by Antiquorum on 14/15 November. The exceptional watch, created in 1989 by Patek Philippe to celebrate the company's 150th anniversary, comes from the Matsuda collection. With its 33 complications, it will be the highlight of the Geneva-based auction house's 35th anniversary sale. Only four examples of Calibre 89 had been produced, each a unique piece: in yellow gold, pink gold, white gold and platinum. The yellow gold Calibre 89 had already been sold by Antiquorum on 9 April 1989, in the special sale "The Art of Patek Philippe" to commemorate the company's 150th anniversary. The Calibre 89 in white gold, on the other hand, was sold by Antiquorum in the 30th anniversary auction on 24 April 2004 and sold for the "modest" sum of $5 million.
