Cuervo y Sobrinos - Summer Marathon 2012

The first edition of the Cuervo y Sobrinos Summer Marathon, a regularity race for historic cars, will take place from 14 to 17 June. The chosen setting is the very suggestive one offered by Bormio and the Central Alps, crossing five legendary Alpine passes, such as Stelvio, Tonale, Gavia, Forcola and Foscagno, for a total of 150 km and 70 time trials. Speaking about the first edition of the Cuervo y Sobrinos Summer Marathon, Marzio Villa, patron of the original Havana-based company, said: ''The Cuervo y Sobrinos Summer Marathon will be a great success. We are proud to present the first edition of Cuervo y Sobrinos - Summer Marathon. What better combination of image can lead us into the much sought-after world of technology, study of details, elegance and personality than the encounter with the sphere of historic cars. Hence my decision to be with Cuervo y Sobrinos as Patron of this first edition of the Summer Marathon, which I fully embraced by supporting it and getting excited even before the start".

160 crews from all over the world, with cars built and registered before 1971, will be admitted to the competition. Registration is open from today, 15 February, until 22 May. The prize money is also interesting, starting from the absolute first prize of five thousand euros, to a special prize for the 'barchetta category', from the ladies' grand prix to the prize for the first three classified in each CSAI N3 grouping, for the first three classified teams and the first five Top Cars.
