IWC - Homage to the myth

To mark the centenary of the first memorable flight by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, IWC has produced a sixth special edition dedicated to the exploits of the famous pilot. The 18-carat rose gold case of the new Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition de Saint-Exupéry frames a tobacco-coloured dial with a sun-pattern finish, on which the single chronograph hour and minute counters, at 12 o'clock, and the continuous seconds hand at 6 o'clock, stand out. Housed inside is the IWC-manufactured 89361 calibre, a self-winding mechanical movement with the peculiarity of displaying longer time intervals on a single inner dial. Beautifully engraved on the case back is the silhouette of the plane on which Saint-Exupéry made his last flight, the Lightning P-38. The strap, with folding clasp, is made of brown calfskin leather with cream-coloured stitching. It is produced in a limited and numbered edition of only 500 pieces.
