Excellent adjudication of the Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk

Ottima aggiudicazione del Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk

The first watch designed specifically for use in space (its creators spent twelve months in space on a mission with the International Space Station - ISS in 2008) was auctioned at Antiquorum in New York last September. The winning bid, three times its initial estimate, reached an impressive $45,600.

Recall that the Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk, during its 'mission' in orbit, performed flawlessly and did not require any setting or recharging, despite the absence of gravity.

The proceeds of the sale will benefit the US association 'The Nature Conservancy' and the research centre 'Challenger Center for Space Science Education'.

The watch will be accompanied by a certifying letter signed by Richard Garriot (the designer who made it), authenticating the watch and conveying his thanks to the recipient for his support of charities.
