Haute horlogerie: the Bovet novelty

Récital 26 Brainstorm Chapter Two is the new Bovet watch equipped with a double-faced flying tourbillon, universal time with second time-zone indexing, moon phase and 5-day power reserve. The second timepiece in the Maison's collections to be fitted with a sapphire case, the emblematic "lectern" case with its asymmetrical profile designed by Pascal Raffy in 2016, highlights a domed dial - in transparent blue or green quartz or blue aventurine glass - displaying the local hours and minutes at the top of the case. The seconds are read off an index fixed to the tourbillon, itself positioned at 6 o'clock, which makes one complete revolution in 60 seconds. Two rotating domes, positioned at 3 and 9 o'clock respectively, complete the design: the one at 3 o'clock indicates a second time zone, with the names of the 24 reference cities printed on the rotating part of the dome and indicated by a three-dimensional V-shaped hand (in addition to displaying a second time zone, this display also offers the universal time function, which allows the time in each of the 24 time zones to be read simultaneously); the dome at 9 o'clock is dedicated to the phases of the moon, with an accuracy that requires a correction of one day every 127 years, and makes it possible to read the age of the moon depending on whether one is in the northern or southern hemisphere. The motor of this new creation, the hand-wound Calibre 17DM06-DT, fixed to the caseback and embellished with the patented double-faced flying tourbillon, guarantees an autonomy of more than five days (indicated by an indicator positioned on the caseband between the two strap attachments) thanks to the use of a single barrel that maintains the oscillations of the regulating organ at a frequency of 21,600 A/h. Price: 355,000 Swiss francs.
