Antica Orologeria Candido Operti - The art of jewellery and the art of chocolate

1

An unprecedented event took place on the evening of Saturday 28 November in Cagliari, under the arcades of Via Roma, where the Antica Orologeria Candido Operti wished to present, in a single context, two different expressions of great Italian craftsmanship: high jewellery and fine chocolate. But why combine two such distant worlds? "Because the distance is only apparent," explained Candido Operti, "since both are manifestations of our creativity and have a single common thread: the ability to work the material, mould it and masterfully combine the various components to give shape to an exquisite and precious object. Whether it is an enchanting piece of jewellery or a delicious designer chocolate, the creator of this 'miracle' is always a skilled craftsman who, with skill and passion, transforms the idea into tangible reality... It doesn't matter whether his creation lasts a few moments or forever! His cultural baggage is know-how conquered day after day, year after year, and constitutes a heritage of great value that deserves to be known, kept alive and passed on'. The exhibition of precious haute joaillerie creations, evidence of a work that has its roots in the history and culture of our country, was accompanied by the presentation of signature chocolates by T'a Milano, together with recipes, anecdotes and curiosities, while a maȋtre chocolatier performed chocolate processing and the preparation of delicacies. The name T'a derives from the initials of Tancredi and Alberto Alemagna, the heirs of a tradition born a century ago and which has marked the history of Italian confectionery, who re-propose the family art in a contemporary key, following the ancient and skilful rules of craftsmanship. Godmother of the exhibition, the beautiful and lovely Giulia Arena, Miss Italy 2013, who wore some splendid jewellery sets on Saturday evening, and among the most important guests were the mayor of Cagliari, Massimo Zedda, and Alberto Alemagna.
