Legendary cars inspire the collections of the Atelier Jalaper brand. And their realisation is decidedly unique.
The 1966 Lamborghini Miura P400 is considered the first supercar, the sexiest, as beautiful as it is difficult to tame. Now, thanks to the Atelier Jalaper brand, it is possible to own at least a small fragment of that history. The dial of the new AJ-P400 model, in fact, is made from an original piece of bodywork from a Miuratreated in such a way as not to lose its patina, which makes each specimen unique.
The steel case, 39.5 mm in diameter and 10.3 mm thick, has a turtle design, with a brushed finish and bevelled edges, and is topped with a polished oval bezel echoing the shape of the car headlights.
A combination of aesthetics and mechanics
From the very first glance, Atelier Jalaper's watches are reminiscent of car instrumentation, while the movement used adds a vintage touch to the whole.
The dial graphics and hour font are inspired by the instruments on board and the flange is available in black, light blue, acid green and orange, i.e. the colours of most of the approximately 760 P400s produced between 1966 and 1973.
The Sellita calibre SW-270 1M with 28,800 vibrations per hour, 45-hour power reserve and reserve indicator, adds an extra touch of vintage charm, thanks to the manual refill.
The black leather strap has a padded horizontal pattern, exactly like the Lamborghini seats. The AJ-P400 is available in a limited edition of 400 pieces in each colour at a price of 1,800 euro.
Not only Miura for Atelier Jalaper. The AJ001 model (or AJ002 with date display), with automatic winding, is in fact a homage to the Aston Martin DB5 and again the dial was cut from an original piece of bodywork.
