Audemars Piguet - Royal Oak Forward-Thinking

In Milan, from 8 to 13 April, Audemars Piguet will be exhibiting twenty-one Royal Oak Offshore models that have made the history of this model, together with the six new chronographs presented last January at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva. The exhibition will be held in Palazzo Bagatti Valsecchi (Via Gesù 5), as part of the Untold exhibition, curated by Rossana Orlandi. Underlying this is the idea that sedimented techniques and craftsmanship knowledge are not limitations, but on the contrary stimuli for creating the new. The design of the Royal Oak Offshore, with its characteristic octagonal shape, upset the universe of classic round gold watches when it was launched. Initially made in steel, gold and platinum, the timepieces in the collection then became symbols of Audemars Piguet's innovative spirit and its far-sighted interest in the most technologically advanced materials. Titanium appeared very early on, followed in the 2000s by carbon, ceramics, cermet and rubber. The movement is decorated and assembled by hand, in full compliance with Haute Horlogerie codes, even in models without a sapphire crystal back.
