Changes

As of 1 April 2017, Nicolas Baretzki will be CEO of Montblanc. The current Ceo, Jérôme Lambert, becomes Head of Operations, responsible for the central and regional services of all Richemont Group Maisons outside the jewellery and watchmaking sectors. "I am very happy that Nicolas Baretzki is to become the new CEO of Montblanc," said Lambert. "Baretzki has played an important role in the successful development of the brand over the last few years and will be the right person to ensure the continuity of the path taken. A graduate of the HEC (Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales) in Paris, Nicolas Baretzki began his career at Cartier where he held various functions, including Marketing and General Management, for eight years. From 2002 for Jaeger-LeCoultre he held the position of International Sales Director, until 2013 when he moved to Montblanc as Executive Vice President Sales.

The new appointment is part of the change process as part of Richemont's biggest management overhaul in recent times, due to the downturn in sales of luxury watches and leather goods. "One person cannot be in charge, it is not correct" - said Richemont Chairman Johann Rupert. "We will never have such a CEO figure again. The time has come for us to make way for a new generation."
