Seiko Italia, the newly established subsidiary of the well-known Japanese watch brand, has chosen to entrust the management of press relations to Barbara Gianuzzi Comunicazione. From 1 September, the Milanese studio will be the press office in Italy for the Seiko and Grand Seiko brands. "When it comes to style and accuracy in details, Italy in the world is a reference point," says Roberto Sforzini, Country Manager Seiko Italia. "That of Seiko Italia, therefore, is more than just a commercial challenge. The brand's vocation for innovation and the value of quality that characterises its production must be transmitted to the public through a punctual and competent communication activity. This will be an important lever to develop the community of our admirers and enthusiasts and to spread the culture linked to these splendid brands'. "The one with Seiko Italia is a very stimulating collaboration," explains Barbara Gianuzzi, owner of the eponymous studio. "We are talking about a brand that boasts unique watchmaking production, with several technological firsts: from the first quartz wristwatch to the development of proprietary technologies made possible thanks to research and savoir-faire of Seiko." Seiko, already present in Italy as one of the most appreciated realities in the watchmaking sector, has recently decided to bet further on the Bel Paese by establishing a subsidiary there. The objective will be not only to develop Seiko in Italy, but also to launch Grand Seiko, the group's high-end brand, expressly aimed at the most demanding public in the luxury sector. The press office activity will benefit from the opportunity to develop a broad storytelling linked to the tradition of the watchmaker's brands and their collections. Seiko's story begins in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, when 22-year-old Kintaro Hattori opened a shop for the sale and repair of watches and alarm clocks. Driving him was the ambition to "always be one step ahead". After eleven years, the shop became a company, Seikosha. The current reality, Seiko Watch Corporation, continues to keep faith with its mission, inherent as it is in the very name of the company. Seiko, in Japanese, has three meanings: besides being a woman's name, it means 'precision' and 'success'. Its founder, after all, already had clear ideas: "Never look back, look ahead, move forward, even by half a step, be flexible to embrace change and be sincere."
