Baume, the sustainable watch brand launched a few months ago by Richemont, introduces its first limited edition series in collaboration with skateboarder Erik Ellington and his HRS brand. Together they have developed a collection of watches made by reusing skateboards belonging to Erik and his friends. "The synergy between our brands was amazing, plus we share the same common values," said Philipp Bolthausen, Creative Director of Baume. "We discussed the challenges of sustainability and the importance of re-use. The concept of up-cycling, which is so important to Baume, soon led us to the idea of making watches from Erik and his team's boards. What better way to make them immortal than to give them a new life, allowing others to enjoy them otherwise?".
Each watch in the collection has a unique case due to the different shades of wood in each skateboard. The skateboards are made of several layers of wood, each of which has a different colour and shade. The Limited Edition watches come with two interchangeable cork straps, one black and the other natural. The movement is automatic. The Baume HRS Limited Edition is on sale from 12 October for € 1,220, exclusively on the website baumewatches.com.
