After last year's presentation of the Vintage PW1 (pocket watch) and WW1 (wristwatch) models, celebrating the watches worn during the First World War, Bell & Ross is now offering two new, captivating versions equipped with an Argentium case, a new silver alloy that delays oxidation. This is the Vintage PW1 Répétition Minutes, a pocket watch equipped with a minute repeater function. This complication, one of the most renowned in watchmaking alongside the tourbillon and the perpetual calendar, thus makes it possible to "listen" to the time instead of reading it, thanks to the activation of the slide located on the left side of the case. A grave gong thus echoes for each hour, which is then followed by a succession of double strikes of grave and acute gongs for every five minutes elapsed. The Vintage PW1 Argentium has a silver case and chain, while the movement (visible in the photo) is mechanical with manual winding. The guilloché case back, with its 'barleycorn' decoration, opens to reveal the aforementioned mechanism. For its part, the Vintage WW1 Argentium, also with a 41 mm silver case, is animated by the hand-wound ETA 7001 calibre. Other noteworthy details include the domed sapphire crystal and the flush lugs, which echo the typical design of watches of yesteryear. The strap is made of crocodile leather, while water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 3 atmospheres.
