Breguet has signed a partnership with the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma for the premiere of Il barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini, the famous opera whose bicentenary of birth falls in 2016. The new production, signed by director Davide Livermore and conducted by maestro Donato Renzetti, was broadcast live on Rai5 on the evening of the premiere, 11 February; there will be a total of seven performances throughout the month (the one on the 20th will fall on the exact day of the absolute premiere, when in 1816 the curtain of the Teatro Argentina was raised for the first time on the Italian composer's most famous opera). Breguet's presence at the premiere of the opera is no coincidence, since Rossini owned a precious timepiece made by the Swiss Maison in 1828, with a small guilloche case.
