Breguet 'Tourbillon Day

To celebrate the 218th anniversary of the Tourbillon patent, which falls on this very day, Breguet boutiques around the world will offer visitors the opportunity to discover the new collections and, at the same time, to learn more about this ingenious complication. The Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique 5367 and the Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique 5377 will be among the most popular tourbillon timepieces. Both feature Grand Feu enamelled and guilloché gold dials respectively, but both are equipped with one of the thinnest automatic tourbillon movements, just 3 millimetres thick: Calibre 581, with a peripheral oscillating weight and a tourbillon cage that has been entirely redesigned for maximum subtlety. The same movement animates the Marine Tourbillon Equation Marchante 5887, a watch indicating the oscillation of mean solar time with respect to true solar time, and the skeletonised Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Squelette 5395, the brand's latest technical feat, achieved by removing almost half the material from this movement.
