Uncle Scrooge would surely have agreed with the choice of the headquarters of the Italian Stock Exchange in Milan's Piazza Affari to pay tribute to his 60th anniversary on 29 May. The tribute to the world's richest Donald Duck was organised thanks to the collaboration between Disney, TerraCieloMare and Editalia, Gruppo Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, envisaged the creation of two objects: a precious watch and a special coin. Phantom Duckburg and Scrooge's Coffer provided the inspiration for the World Timer, equipped with an ETA 2824 movement, where the hours of the world are represented by the cities that host the most important stock exchanges (Milan, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and, hear hear, even Duckburg), while the other time zones are identified by the local exchange currencies. Every other element refers to this mythical comic book character: the blue, red and gold colours of the dial; his effigy on the Disney signature above the 6; the famous chest containing the date at 3; the two crowns inspired by the handles of the safes found in abundance in his palace; the reproduction on the case back of the famous Number One, the lucky coin earned as a shoeshine boy by our hero in Scotland, as well as the phrase that best represents him, "The cleverest of the clever"; the leather case in which the watch is sold, recalling the money pouch from which Uncle Scrooge was never separated. The timepiece, in a numbered and limited edition of 500 pieces, is on sale at official TerraCieloMare dealers for 980 euros. The second item mentioned above is a certified limited edition coin, housed inside a refined transparent case that reproduces Uncle Scrooge's deposit, equipped with a dome-lens that allows you to admire it in its tiniest details, with the same attention that he reserved for his inseparable talisman.
