To mark the 40th anniversary of the legendary film 'Back to the Future', Casio presents a new digital watch inspired by the famous film.
Back to the Future was released in cinemas in 1985, thanks to Oscar-winning directors Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg. This original and groundbreaking film gave birth to one of the most beloved trilogies of all time. When the young Marty McFly (played by Michael J. Fox) is catapulted back to 1955 aboard the time machine (in the guise of a DeLorean DMC-12) created by the eccentric Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd), he finds himself caught up in a chain of events that could wipe out his future and leave him trapped in the past.

Released 40 years ago, produced by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, Back to the Future won over audiences thanks to innovative special effects, unforgettable songs and non-stop action, remaining an unrivalled adventure that has stood the test of time.
And just today, Casio Italy has launched the new digital watch CA-500WEBF, inspired by Back to the Future, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the famous film. The watch also naturally echoes the Casio CA-53W worn by the main character, Marty McFly, during the film.

Developed in collaboration with the aforementioned Universal Products & Experiences (UP&E), the new Casio CA-500WEBF combines a timeless Casio classic with the famous film. The basic model, the CA-500, with its unmistakable calculator function, has been an unbroken best-seller from the Japanese manufacturer since the 1980s.
Casio for Back to the Future
In the celebratory CA-500WEBF model, several details refer to the Zemeckis film.
The design of the watch face is inspired by the characteristic taillights of the time machine and at the top is the inscription 'OUTATIME', a reference to the DeLorean licence plate that appears in the film. The different colours of the buttons also recall the time circuits used to set the target date and time.
The back is engraved with an illustration of the 'flux capacitor', the famous imaginary device that allows the time machine to function, while the buckle features the 'Back to the Future' logo". Great attention was paid to these and many other details, for a collaboration that perfectly reflects the themes and style of the film.
The watch is presented in special packaging that reproduces the look of a vintage video cassette, recalling the retro feel of the film and also making this model a collector's item. The resin case measures 43.2 x 34.4 mm and is combined with a steel bracelet with a sliding clasp. The new Casio CA-500WEBF dedicated to Back to the Future is naturally powered by a quartz movement, with calculator, full automatic calendar, dual time zone and chronograph functions.
