Casio - Edifice Toro Rosso Honda F1

Scuderia Toro Rosso driver Pierre Gasly and Team Principal Franz Tost presented, together with Masashi Yamamoto, General Manager of Honda Motorsport Division, two new additions to the Edifice collections of high-precision chronographs. Evoking the true spirit of motorsport, the two new products Scuderia Toro Rosso ECB-800TR, EFR-563TR, and the limited edition with Honda Racing EQS-800HR, embody the Edifice ethos characterised by the brand's motto 'Speed & Intelligence'. On the limited editions with Scuderia Toro Rosso, Pierre Gasly said: "I like them for their high-tech design and functionality. When I land in another country, the time zone changes by connecting to my phone, which is great for someone who is always on the move like me. The strap made of Dura Soft resin is not only durable but also very comfortable. You can clearly see that they have used everything they have learnt during their time with us to make these watches". Franz Tost, Team Principal of Scuderia Toro Rosso, added: "It is fantastic to see how Edifice has been able to use the technology and components in our Faenza factory to make their watches. "Time is of the essence in Formula 1 and the Edifice Scuderia Toro Rosso watch is able to automatically adjust the time based on the information it receives by connecting to the smartphone. Fans will also be able to use this watch to take lap times, set track lengths and calculate average speeds." Speaking about the limited edition Edifice Honda Racing, Masashi Yamamoto, head of Honda Motorsport, said: "We first met Casio and its Edifice brand last year at the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka. Then we decided to take the best of Edifice and the best of Honda to make something together." "After much discussion we invited the Casio Edifice engineers to our research and development centre in Sakura where we build the Honda power unit for Scuderia Toro Rosso." "The time spent in our centre allowed the Casio Edifice team to develop ideas that we can find not only in the current final product, but also in future ones." Scuderia Toro Rosso has always applied its youthful energy and passion for the pursuit of speed to its racing cars, which are equipped with extraordinary technological innovations. According to Edifice, which has been an official team partner of Toro Rosso since 2016, these features fit perfectly with the brand's motto 'Speed & Intelligence'. The new ECB-800TR and EFR-563TR models feature red and blue detailing, the colours of Scuderia Toro Rosso's racing cars, recalling the colours of the team's clothing and the world of motor sports in general. The team logo is engraved on the dial and back of both models, while in the ECB-800TR the logo is also found on the strap loop. The two models come in special packaging that further enhances these exclusive watches and the partnership. The ECB-800TR is equipped with a Bluetooth connection and features an analogue-digital display. The bezel is made of carbon fibre, the dial features a geometric pattern, and the strap is made of Dura Soft FluoroRubber, a material that is durable yet soft to the touch. The watch has a Target Time Indicator, which shows the relative difference between lap time and final time, and a function that can calculate average speeds. In addition to alphanumeric characters, the LCD display shows graphics and other information in a variety of modes. The EFR-563TR with an all-steel construction, has a battery life of up to 10 years and has an IP Black (ion plating) finish all along the bracelet and on the case, giving this watch an even more elegant look. The new EQS-800HR is a high-performance steel chronograph and is the result of a collaboration with Honda Racing. Honda Racing is the racing department of the Honda Motor Company, Ltd. The company supplies power units to the Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula One team, which Casio Edifice has sponsored since 2016. The collaboration between Honda Racing and Casio with its Edifice brand, both of Japanese origin, is based on a common quest for high-tech functionality. The new EQS-800HR is a solar-powered watch with a dial made of carbon fibre, an indispensable material for motor sports enthusiasts. The design of the watch adopts Honda Racing's characteristic colours of red and white, enhanced by a white leather strap with a red interior. The dial, strap loop and case back bear the Honda Racing logo. This exclusive watch comes with a special box containing a commemorative postcard of the Honda F1 RA301, the car with which Honda competed in the 1968 Formula One season.
