The Japanese manufacturer presents two new models dedicated to Stranger Things, namely the G-Shock DW-5600STT-1JR and the Casio AQ-800EST-1A.
Casio presents a special collaboration with Stranger Things, the Netflix series that has won millions of fans worldwide and which just this year arrives in Italy with its concluding chapter, represented by the fifth season.
From the encounter between the fictional universe of the series and the know-how of Casio Thus, two special edition models were born: the G-Shock DW-5600STT-1JR and the Casio AQ-800EST-1A. These new models reinterpret the DW-5600 and AQ-800, interweaving symbolic elements of the two worlds that define history, everyday reality and the mysterious Underworld.
The dial of both models features an intertwined vine motif that recalls the ominous presence of Vecna, one of the last season's antagonists. This plot creates a direct link with the dark and supernatural atmosphere of the Underworld, which is harmoniously integrated into the design of the two watches. On this shared basis, two different interpretations develop, both characterised by different references to the series.
The G-Shock DW-5600STT-1JR, for example, has an unexpected detail: in the 'Led Back Light' inscription (located at about 6 o'clock) the letter 'A' appears upside down, direct reference to the relationship between the real and alternative dimensions that define the entire story. The red backlighting emphasises this link, evoking the tones that accompany some of the most intense moments in Stranger Things.
On the strap loop is the figure '011', a reference to Eleven, the central protagonist of the narrative. The technical features are those of the DW-5600, i.e. backlighting, shockproof construction, display flashing, chronograph to the hundredth of a second and up to 24 hours, timer, multifunctional alarm clock, automatic calendar and 12/24-hour format.
Casio for Stranger Things: two unreleased models
The fifth and final season of the popular Netflix series recently arrived in Italy.
The Casio AQ-800EST-1A, on the other hand, is distinguished by its embossed metal finish indices inspired by the typeface of the Netflix series. The case back (as with the G-Shock DW-5600STT-1JR ) is engraved with the Stranger Things logo, while The number '001' is engraved on the clasp, a reference to Vecna's tattoo. The main functions include a second time zone, chronograph, daily alarm and automatic calendar.
The references to the series also continue in the packaging, which foregrounds the Demogorgon and the tentacled roots, recurring elements in the Stranger Things imagery. This choice further strengthens the link between the two models and the saga's narrative universe, creating a coherent experience that accompanies the product from the exterior design to the details on the dial.
Casio had already collaborated with Stranger Things in the past with a dedicated model. These new models ideally continue that path, expanding its scope by means of two watches that further deepen the dialogue with the saga, precisely on the occasion of the arrival of the fifth and final season in Italy. These new models dedicated to Stranger Things are available from 2 December on the Casio websiteat the G-Shock store in Milan and selected Casio dealers.
