The "From Zero To Elbrus" project sees Nico Valsesia, a well-known extreme sports enthusiast, cover the distance between sea level and a particularly significant and challenging mountain peak in non-stop mode in the shortest possible time, by bicycle and on foot, thus combining the athlete's two great passions: cycling and mountain running. Accompanying him on the venture is the Casio Pro Trek PRW-6000, which will follow him in all activities. The only technical reference point on the expedition, the PRW-6000 guarantees precision in measuring direction, barometric pressure, altitude, which will be very important on the approach to the summit, and temperature thanks to the integrated Triple Sensor Ver. 3.0. The starting point will be the Caspian Sea, which is actually located in a depression at -26 metres below sea level; from where the shortest road route to the base of Elbrus (located on the eastern side of the mountain) runs. Nico Valsesia is currently at the foot of Elbrus to begin acclimatising his physique to the high altitudes; in the next few days he will reach the start on the shores of the Caspian Sea and it will be the weather that will decide the moment to start the record attempt (which could therefore already take place around 25-26 June).
