Chopard at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival

Ingrid Bergman & Roberto Rossellini - Viaggio in Italia - 1953

On the occasion of the 67th Cannes Film Festival, to be held from 14 to 25 May 2014, Chopard is reviving the magic of the legendary Italian studios through a photographic exhibition entitled "Backstage at Cinecittà". The chosen images, which can be admired at the Chopard Rooftop space for the duration of the Festival, are stolen moments or posed portraits, captured off set or in the middle of filming, and reveal the most hidden features of the Roman studios during their golden era in the 1950s and 1960s. The Cinecittà film studio complex, built in Rome in 1937, has played a major role in the history of Italian and world cinema: almost three thousand films have been shot here, some fifty of which have won Oscars. Its myth has grown along with masterpieces such as La Dolce Vita, Ben Hur, War and Peace, Cleopatra or The Leopard and around stars of the calibre of Marcello Mastroianni, Anita Ekberg, Alain Delon, Sophia Loren, Charlton Heston, Audrey Hepburn, Ingrid Bergman, Henry Fonda, Ava Garner and Brigitte Bardot. The big names of the Italian seventh art are immortalised while working with great concentration or in moments of rest from work.
