Chopard at the Mille Miglia 2020

Today sees the start of the historic vintage car race, described as "the most beautiful in the world", which will cross our beautiful Italy from 22 to 25 October in a route that will stretch 1,000 km from Brescia to Rome and back. Once again this year, Chopard, official partner and timekeeper of the Mille Miglia, has created watches dedicated to this race. Models that will be on the wrists of all participants for a real "racing in style" Gentlemen Driver. Since becoming the main Partner and Official Timekeeper of the 1000 Miglia in 1988, Chopard has presented a new timepiece dedicated to the famous competition every year. Decade after decade, these timepieces have become highly sought-after collectors' items, both for their rarity and for the way they perfectly express the inseparable link between the world of classic cars and that of mechanical sports watches. The 2020 mIlle Miglia Race Edition comes in two versions housing a chronometer-certified movement: 1,000 pieces in microbillé DLC-treated stainless steel (pictured) and 250 pieces in microbillé DLC-treated stainless steel and 18-carat ethical rose gold. In addition, the House also presented the Mille Miglia Lab One, featuring a new case with futuristic lines and a new movement equipped with a device-engineered timepiece, the Mille Miglia Lab One is a concept watch created as a tribute to the 1000 Miglia. Designed in the spirit of racing cars, with the same quest for technical refinement and innovation, this first automatic chronometer with tourbillon by Chopard, in a limited edition of just twenty pieces, pushes the Manufacture beyond its limits. It is ultra-light and features a cushion-shaped case made of burnished titanium, boasting exceptional ergonomics and technical content, a tourbillon movement (Chopard 04.03-M) with an unprecedented patented stop mechanism and an invisible crown that is also patented.
