Until now, in keeping with the most classic watchmaking tradition, De Grisogono's New Retro has been produced with a white or pink gold case, without neglecting complications and diamonds. Today, the New Retro Steel 44 mm flaunts the steel side of its nature and shows itself in all the luminous brilliance of this shade of grey. Moreover, traditionally, the New Retro was only available in a variant with a leather strap: now the watch combines the steel of the case with that of the bracelet, while the dial is blue with a sunray satin finish. The minimalist design and generous dimensions make this timepiece ideal in all circumstances. Designed in 2008 and put into production in 2015, the New Retro is a watch collection that opens the door to the future with an eye to the past. The clean, simple lines of the rectangular case are balanced by the sinuously rounded corners. A watch, therefore, with a minimalist appearance but which focuses on the complexity of the case, composed of two perfectly matched sapphire crystals joined by a thin gold band. The watch is powered by the DG 10-01 calibre, mechanical with automatic winding (140 components, 25 jewels, 42-hour power reserve, 28,800 vib/h, burnished and openworked oscillating weight), and is water-resistant to a pressure of 3 atmospheres.
