The new watch collection by Dolce&Gabbana is called Manifattura Italiana, a tribute to the Bel Paese and the great skill of its craftsmen. The source of inspiration for the line's six models are the world-famous Italian cities of art: Rome, Milan, Venice, Palermo, Florence and Naples. If their historical and architectural peculiarities are taken up through the engraving and inlay technique on the cases, dials and bracelets of the new timepieces, the precision of the internal mechanisms is due to the use of Swiss Made movements. Such as the DG 01.01 calibre, the first movement made in-house and assembled by hand by master watchmakers in Geneva. It is also available in a version with a 24-hour complication, calibre DG 01.02, which, thanks to a special demultiplier device on the hour wheel, allows the dial to be divided into 24 hours: a complication that refers to the so-called "hora italica", an ancient method of calculating time that divided the day into 24 hours and that can still be admired today in the Clock Tower in St. Mark's Square. Only 13 pieces were made for each of the six models in the line, with prices ranging from 45,000 to 70,000 euros.
